Sad day for MSU Baseball

Yesterday we went to Starkville to see Coach Ron Polk's last game at MSU before retirement. He was honored with his former players lining the field, and we went to a luncheon for his former players before the game. They showed a video of Coach Polk throughout the years and gave him a brand new car! He began the game by throwing out the first pitch. MSU Baseball will never be the same without Coach Polk, nor will going to see the dawgs play. Jeremy was sad all day and the whole drive home. We can always count on getting anniversary, Christmas, and birthday cards from Coach Polk. He truly loves his players and the game of baseball!!!

Rainy Day

Everyday when Garrett wakes up he says, "Where are we going today?" The boy loves to GO, especially to Wal-Mart! Anyway, one day last week it was raining hard and Garrett wanted to go somewhere but I told him No, it was raining. He said, "We can put our raincoats on and our boots." I finally said OK, and we went to the Y and to Wal-Mart. They were soaking wet but they didn't mind!
Why do kids love water puddles???

Mother's Morning Out Luncheon at Pinelake

Last Monday was a end-of-the-year luncheon for all the kids and their parents/grandparents at Pinelake. Garrett's teachers, Mrs. Brittany and Mrs. Sharon, made a canvas with a picture of Garrett and a book of pictures he had made or drawn this year. He had so much fun this year and will miss all of his little friends this summer. He hugged all of them goodbye. It was so sweet!

Mother's Day

These two faces are what makes being a mother worth EVERY SINGLE MINUTE (the good and the very few bad)!!! I couldn't have gotten through this past year without my precious boys. I didn't get any pics of me with the boys today because Garrett was sick and we didn't even get to go to church together or go to lunch together. However, I did get a nap today and did not have to cook which are the two most important parts of Mother's Day! Jeremy surprised me with a necklace from Liz Henry that I had been wanting. Thanks, Jeremy! I hope you all had a blessed and restful Mother's Day. I know I did!!!

Happy Birthday to Papa!!

Today is my dad's 63rd (I think) birthday! Happy Birthday to Papa!! He sure does look good for his age and is very active. We went home last weekend with Boo and her kids and got to see Papa get baptized! When Mom died he said that he needed to get "re"baptized because he did it when he was 15 because everyone else was doing it. He said he got things in the wrong order. The past year he hasn't said much about it but then called me a couple of weeks ago and said he "walked the aisle" to be baptized again and would be baptized on May 4th. I am so proud of him! For those of you who don't know my daddy he is a very strong, masculine, show-no-emotions, baseball coach. I think before my mom died I had only seen him cry maybe twice. Now, he isn't afraid to cry. I guess sometimes he just can't help it and the tears just come flowing. He cried the whole time he was getting baptized, along with Boo and myself as we watched. It took 2 pastors to dunk him so that they wouldn't drop him. This was more awesome than him winning 2 National Baseball Coach of the Year awards. How often is it that you get to see one of your parents get baptized?!! This was just one of the many blessings God has shown even through mom's death. This may not have ever happened if she wouldn't have died. Who knows??? It helps to think of the good things and the blessings instead of focusing that Mom is gone. God is so good, even in the bad times, if you just allow Him to reveal HIMSELF to you!!!!

Playing in the water

Last night I told Garrett that we would play in the water today, so even though it looked like it was going to rain, we played anyway. They had so much fun, especially when Jeremy came home from work and joined in on the fun! I love watching my 3 boys playing together!!!
This one's my favorite!!!
At first they just crawled through the water
Graham loved it once he finally decided to go for it!

My "baby" Graham
They were loving it!
Garrrett was probably singing or acting like a robot. (He acts silly when he gets excited!!!)
I don't really know what they're doing, but it was our first time to play with the ball and they already put a hole in it. Oh well, at least it was only $4!!!
